Update on 5/30/03: Well, she's made it to six! Claire's bright, friendly, generally happy, treats her friends well, is usually good to her brother (unless he's got something that she wants or might want at some point), and doesn't whine too much. Today was the turning point in her life, as she finally made a convincing argument for getting a Barbie.
Update 6/6: Claire grew 1.5 inches and 6 pounds over the past year (sounds like my waistline). She's definitely gotten smarter: she's reading books now, and her vocabulary is quite rich. She's also learned some Spanish in school.
Update 7/17: Claire lost her first tooth today. The best part about it is that she was afraid about it falling out, so now that it's over, she won't need to worry. Pop pop Hal said that the best thing to do was to wiggle it and try to get it out sooner rather than later, so she did.
Update 12/18: Claire is pretty excited that she's learning how to play the recorder. She can play "Hot Cross Buns" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb." She sounds pretty good, although she's got band-aids covering two holes to make it easier for her to play. Hey, learning something new is tough!
